MeloChicks Training provides small and emerging poultry farmers access to quality online courses together with practical exercises. Interactive workgroup sessions are held via online web conferences and onsite visits.
MeloChicks training launch will be on 17 May 2021. We will be offering our first course on how to build your own incubator. Other course topics are in progress and will be available as they are completed. If you are interested in a particular topic please let us know by sending an email to training@melochicks.co.za.
The course will teach you how to run a successful hatchery and basic principle of incubation and brooding. The course topics include : How to choose an incubator, incubation principles, sterilizing the incubator, sourcing and handling of fertile eggs, candling, hatching problems and analysis, programming the incubator temp, humidity, turning and alarms, calibration of incubator, maintenance of incubators. The course includes online workshops and one on onsite workshop . Wrapup of what was learnt and how to apply the skills to a larger hatchery.
